WILDLIFE TOUR IN HIMALAYAS WITH BENGAL - 15 NIGHTS/16 DAYS

Day 1:                        Arrive Delhi, air
Arrive Delhi by flight. Assistance on arrival and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at your hotel.

Delhi - The capital of the vast, mystic subcontinent “ India”. A fine blend of old –n-new, ancient and modern Era. History of Delhi goes back to the days of Mahabharata, when it was known as the Indraprastha. It is surprising, indeed, that since that era this city has remained the capital of the country. 

Magnificent forts and edifices of the Mughal and the pre-Mughal era and the huge architectures of the Raj era have become the pride of Delhi.  The cosmopolitan nature of the city has only added to the beauty and glory of it. Big gardens, wide roads, ancient structures, and power of politics is what Delhi is all about.

Day 2 :           Delhi
Morning proceed for guided city sightseeing tour of Old Delhi . The highlights are :-

Red Fort - This magnificent fort was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1648 Yet another creation by the Emperor Shah Jahan after Taj Mahal which will be remembered by the people eternally.

Jama  Mosque-  is one of the largest and the most elegant mosques in Asia.

You will also experience the a rickshaw ride through busy and historical Chandni Chowk-  this famous market of Old Delhi is a chaotic and amazing criss-crossing of lanes.

We make our way towards New Delhi and drive past Rashtrapati Bhawan (Presidents Palace and one-time imperial residence of the British viceroys) visit The India Gate: a memorial raised in honour of the Indian soldiers, Laxmi Narayan Temple ( Birla Temple) , Humayun’s Tomb- Another magnificent Mughal building, the tomb of the emperor Humayun was built by his wife in 1565-66,  Qutub Minar  - The imposing victory tower 73 metre.

You will also get an opportunity to visit RAJ GHAT – where our Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi was cremated.

Day 3:                        Delhi – Guwahati - Kaziranga National Park, air /200 kms(5 hrs)
Elephants in KazirangaMorning departure transfer to the airport to board the flight for Guwahati. Assistance on arrival and straight drive for Kaizanga National Park

Kaziranga National Park is situated on banks of the Brahmaputra river in Central Assam. It was declared as one of the World’s Heritage Sites in 1985. Besides beautiful nature, Kaziranga has rich fauna. It is a home to Rhinos, wild elephants, buffalos, and hundreds of bird species.

Evening performance of tribal Bihu dance of the region and dinner  by camp fire.

Overnight stay at resort.

Day 4 :           Kaziranga National Park
Morning enjoy jungle excursion .  Afternoon visit to tribal village and witness silk-worm rearing. Overnight stay at resort.

Day 5:                        Kaziranga National Park
Early morning elephant ride to Kaziranga National Park. Afternoon visit to the tea garden and tea factory. Dinner at garden bungalow.
Overnight stay at resort.

Day 7              Kaziranga – Guwahati – Bagdogra - Kalimpong , 200 kms(5 hrs)/air /80 kms (2.5 hrs)Kaziranga National Park
Morning drive for Guwahati and on arrival drop at the airport in time to board the flight for Badogra. Arrival transfer and drive for Kalimpong and check-in at your hotel.

Kalimpong – This town is 1250 m above sea level and offers excellent views of the Mt Kanchenjunga and the other Himalayan peaks. The popular view points are Durpin Dara and Deoro Hill.

Kalimpong has several monasteries and also a Kali temple. The Tibetan Monastery and curio center and Dr Graham's home are important tour stops.

Day 8:            Kalimpong
Morning free to explore the scenic beauty of the surroundings.

Afternoon half day sightseeing tour of Kalimpong visiting Durpin Dara, Tharpa choling Monastery, Zong Dog Palri Fo-brang Monastery, Nursery & Market which are few worth visiting places.

Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 9:                        Kalimpong-  Gangtok (75 kms/2 hrs)
KalimpongEarly morning river rafting on River Teesta and then drive to Gangtok  and on arrival check-in at your hotel.

Nestling in the lush greenery of the Himalayas is Gangtok (5,800 ft), the small capital city of Sikkim, where Buddhist prayer flags flutter in the mountain breeze, exotic orchids and chirruping birds run riot in a colourful melee.

There are several interesting places around Gangtok, such as Ganesh Tok (7 km), Hanuman Tok (11 km) and Tashi View Point (8 km) from where you get the most amazing views of the Kanchenjunga Mt. Siniolchu and other snow-clad peak

Day 10:          Gangtok - Fambong La Wildlife Sanctuary – Gangtok (3\20 kms one way)
Morning proceed for excursion to Fambong La Wildlife Sanctuary another addition to the list of sanctuaries in Sikkim. Known as the second smallest state of India, Sikkim is just the perfect destination where one can enjoy the diverse range of vegetation in such a small region. Situated at a distance of 20 kms from Gangtok, Fambong La Wildlife Sanctuary is a nice place to observe the wild animals engaged in their daily activities.

Sprawled in an area of 51.76 sq km, the Sanctuary is occupied by dense forests of oak, katus, kimbu, champ, bamboo and ferns.

Day 11 :          Gangtok - Kyongnosia Alpine Sanctuary-Gangtok (30 kms one way)
Morning proceed for excursion to Kyongnosia Alpine Sanctuary, spread over an area of 31 sq. km the sanctuary forms a natural border with Bhutan and Tibet in North-East. The Sanctuary can be reached from Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim by a one and half hour journey towards Nathula and Tsongo Lake.

Situated at the elevation between 10,000ft to 13000ft the sanctuary abounds in alpine flowers like Primulas, Poppies, Magnolias and Rhododendron. The sanctuary is home to several endemic floral species of Himalayas particularly medicinal plants and orchids.

The Sanctuary commands a breathtaking view of Kanchenjunga peak in the west and Mt. Pandim and Mt. Norsing in the southern side.

Day 12 :         Gangtok – Bagdogra - Kolkatta (140 kms/5hrs)/air
Morning drive for Bagdogra and on arrival drop at the airport in time to board the flight for Kolkatta. On arrival in Kolkatta, met by our representative and transfer to your hotel.
Overnight stay at your hotel.

Kolkata, the state capital of West Bengal, is enriched with all major contributions in every sphere of Indian activities.  The land of Kolkata produces a number of distinct personalities contributing the name and fame of our country India. It was once the hub of the British East India Company, initially a trade and commercial company and later transformed into a great empire. They ruled over India for almost 200 years.

Day 13:          Kokatta - Sunderbans National ParkTiger in Sunderbans National Park
Transfer to Basanti Port for cruising to Sundarbans .

Overnight motorized launch.

Day 14:          Sunderbans National Park
Cruise through mangrove creeks for wildlife viewing and bird watching at the Sundarbans.

Anchor at Sajnekhali by sunset. Optional slideshow on wildlife at Mangrove Interpretation Centre.

Overnight cruise on boat.

Day 15:          Sunderbans National Park – Kolkatta
Morning cycle rickshaw ride to Rangabeloa Tagore Society.  Afternoon return to Basanti Port.  Drive to Kolkatta.  Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 16           Kolkatta -  Delhi , air
Departure transfer to the airport in time to board the flight for Delhi and on arrival, transfer to the International airport in time to board the flight for onward destination.
