Day 01           Arrive Cochin , air
Arrive Cochin by flight.
You will be welcomed by our local representative and transfer to hotel.
Backwaters in KeralaKochi is the commercial capital of the state of Kerala. Situated by the Arabian Sea, on the west coast of India, this city marked with both natural beauty and cultural heritage is fondly known as the “Queen of the Arabian Sea”.

Day 02           Cochin
Morning guided city sightseeing tour of Kochi visiting Fort Cochin and Mattancherry (Dutch Palace)-  the entrance to the backwaters from the Arabian Sea, the district where trading commenced.

St Francis Church in Fort Cochin, said to be the first Anglican Church in India , also where Vasco Da Gamma, the famous navigator, was buried in 1524.   Later his remains were  returned to his native country Portugal.
           
Bolgathy Palace- Built in 1744 by the Dutch and later taken over by the British, is today a popular hotel run by the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation.

Also visits Chinese Fishing Nets – introduced by traders from the court of Kublikhan.

Day 03           Cochin – Munnar (approx 140 kms / 4 hrs )

Morning drive for Munnar enroute visiting the scenic beauty . Check-in at your hotel.

Boatrace-KeralaMunnar is a small town in Kerala, surrounded by wild jungles, situated at an altitude of 1700 mtr.  It is the quiet, undisturbed, placid abode where you feel dizzy raptures, aching joy.                       
Rest of the day free to relax or stroll around the tea garden. Overnight at your hotel.

 

Day 04          Munnar

Morning we make a short drive to Rajamalai Wildlife Sanctuary proclaimed as a National Park. A wide variety of plant life is present here.

Afternoon free to relax or stroll around the nearby picturesque boomtown of Munnar. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 05           Munnar – Thekkady (approx 110 kms/ 3 ½ hrs)

Morning drive to Thekkady through the cardamom hills of Kerala and on arrival check into the hotel. Rest of the day free to relax or stroll around the nearby small spice market of Kumily. Overnight at your hotel.

Thekkady, located in central Kerala, is a popular hill station and a wildlife centre. This town, which is an important plantation centre, conjures up images of elephants, unending chains of hills and spice scented plantations.

Day 06          Thekkady

wild-life -ThekkadyMorning explore the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.  Though tigers are very rarely seen and its better known for its elephants. Bison, sambar, wild boar and barking deer are fairly common, in addition to 246 species of birds. The sanctuary offers a lovely and comfortable way to see the animals via boat rides on the man-made lake, which the wildlife area encircles. Rest of the day free to relax.  Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 07           Thekkady – Alleppy  (approx 137 kms/ 3 ½ hrs)

Morning drive to Kumarakom . Check-in at your house boat .

The small picturesque village of Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake. The bird sanctuary here, which is spread across 14 acres is a favorite haunt of migratory birds. The best way to watch the birds of the Kumarakom sanctuary is a boat trip round the islands.

An unbelievably beautiful paradise of mangrove forests, emerald green paddy fields and coconut groves interspersed with enchanting waterways and canals adorned with while lillies - this is Kumarakom

Overnight in house boat.

Day 08          Alleppy – Cochin

Morning after breakfast disembarks from the houseboat, straight drive to Cochin airport to board flight to your onward destination.
